[Deer Lake, August 18,2010]
It’s like safari, this agate deal,
Suiting up in layers against cold wind
Or pealing down to face wicked heat,
Plastic buckets or Baggies of each size
The choices are endless, based on surmise,
Footwear with cleats to scrape through rock piles
Or lightweight ironman tennis to walk
Seven miles. With all the planning, we know
To hell with forecasts, we’re still gonna go,
Like searching for brook trout bonanzas
Untouched agate beaches beckon as
Most titillating extravaganzas.
